Of all the millions of processes that take place in the body on a minute to minute basis, one of the most delicate to keep in optimal balance is the pH level in your blood and in your cells. The body expends countless amounts of energy just to make sure that the pH in your bloodstream and the rest of your cells are kept at its proper levels. It protects the blood and its ability to carry oxygen to the cells and plays many, many other important roles in our health.
Keeping these pH levels stable and in the proper range is one of the body’s greatest “balancing acts”. There is a constant war being waged in the body to keep the pH levels in check.
